Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain Retires from Service

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain Retires from Service, Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Mr. Saroj Guragain, has retired from government service effective today. Mr. Guragain assumed office as the Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on September 23, 2024 (7 Ashwin 2081 B.S.), following the decision of the Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers) dated September 12, 2024 (27 Bhadra 2081 B.S.). He has proceeded on mandatory retirement upon reaching the prescribed age of retirement.

Mr. Guragain is the first Chief Administrative Officer in the history of Kathmandu Metropolitan City to retire from the position.

Speaking at the farewell program, Coordinator of the Good Governance Committee, Mr. Khyam Raj Tiwari, said, “Your knowledge, skills, and experience will be valuable for the institutional development of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. We look forward to your continued contribution and service in this regard.”

Addressing the farewell program, Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Saroj Guragain said that his tenure at Kathmandu Metropolitan City had been the most memorable period of his 32-and-a-half-year career in public service. He further remarked, “The ups and downs encountered in administrative service are natural for public servants. I have taken them in a positive and composed manner.”
