Ward No. 28
Ward No. 28 is situated in Kathmandu's inner quarter and is a place of tremendous historical, ceremonial and religious significance. Sheegha Bihar, Ikha Narayan temple, Ikha Pokhari, Bangemudha and Golpati are some of the famous structures and landmarks in the ward. The ward is not very big in terms of area, but it is immense in terms of culture and tradition. It is bounded by Nhaykan Tol in the east, the Tengal crossroads in the west, the crossroads linking Nagha and Chhetrapati in the north, and by Khiunla Tol in the south.
It would not be exaggerating to say that the Ikha Narayan temple and the nail-studded Wasya-dya at Bangemudha are not only symbols of the ward but of Kathmandu as well. Ward No. 28 occupies an area of 6.8 hectares, and its population in 2001 was 5,462.
